MetroPay is invoicing software made by Studio Metrodesk, Inc, a small software company in Middletown, Delaware. We build it for service businesses that would rather spend the evening on the work than on the paperwork.
Our story
Why we built it
Most service businesses do their billing in the gaps. The invoice gets written after the work, from a spreadsheet or a template that was fine two years ago. Then it is emailed, and then it is chased, and the chasing is done by memory. Nobody enjoys that part, and the money arrives later than it should.
We wanted the billing to be the calm part. One workspace holds the customers, the invoices, the payments and the follow-up, so nothing is copied between tools and nothing is forgotten. An invoice becomes a PDF, an email and a public page from one record. A customer pays from a link, without an account. The dashboard says what is owed and how late it is, in plain words.
What we decided early
Nothing sends itself until an owner turns it on. Reminders and recurring invoices are off by default, and a recurring period arrives as a draft for a person to check. We would rather you send one invoice less than one invoice wrong.
Money never passes through us. Card payments settle in the Stripe or SSLCommerz account you connect, under your own agreement with them, and bank transfer details are yours to show. MetroPay records what happened; it does not hold, route or delay a payment.
Every claim on this site is checked against the product before it is written. If a feature is optional, the page says so. If something is not offered, the page says that too. A security page that only lists strengths is a sales page, so ours also lists what we do not claim.
How we charge
Every workspace starts on the Free plan, with no card on file. The paid plans, Unlimited and a lifetime seat, remove the Free plan's customer limit and the MetroPay line on invoices; their current prices are on the pricing page. The Terms promise at least 30 days' email notice before the Free plan's limits apply, and no charge without choosing a plan first. Payment provider fees are between you and the provider, and always were.
Who we are
Studio Metrodesk, Inc is a small software company registered in Delaware, United States, at 651 N Broad St, Suite 206, Middletown, DE 19709. We answer our own support, read every message sent from this site, and publish one address for all of it. The legal documents name the entity, the governing law and every provider that handles data on our behalf, and they are versioned so you can see what changed.

Principles
What we hold ourselves to
These are the rules we use when we decide what to build and what to say about it.
Clarity
An invoice should say what is owed, by when, and how to pay it, without a second read. The same goes for the software: every screen says what will happen before you press the button.
Professionalism
Your documents carry your name, your logo and your numbering, on your own domain if you want one. MetroPay does not advertise on them.
Control
You choose who on your team can record money, whether reminders send, and which payment methods a customer sees. Nothing is switched on for you.
Reliable follow-up
Late invoices are chased on a schedule you set, and every reminder is recorded. What is owed, and how late it is, stays in view.
