Three jobs, and what MetroPay does about each

Every card ends with what the product does not do, so nothing here is a surprise after you sign up.

  • Collecting a deposit before the shoot date

    The problem
    The date is booked on a promise. The deposit arrives late, or not at all, and chasing it feels like the wrong way to start a relationship.
    What MetroPay does
    A payment link for the deposit amount, with an expiry, pasted into the booking email. The client pays from their phone through your own card account.
    What it does not do
    MetroPay never holds your money. The deposit settles in your Stripe or SSLCommerz account.

  • Billing the package and letting them pay in parts

    The problem
    A wedding package is a large single number. Some clients need to pay it in two or three pieces, and tracking who has paid what takes a notebook.
    What MetroPay does
    Allow part payments on the invoice, set the minimum for your workspace, and the invoice page asks how much. The balance falls as each payment lands.
    What it does not do
    It does not set up an instalment plan that charges on dates. Each payment is the client's choice on the page.

  • Describing what the client is getting

    The problem
    Session, edits, prints, a note about how the images may be used. The invoice needs to say it all, plainly.
    What MetroPay does
    Line items from your saved catalog, notes and terms on the document, and custom fields for anything specific to a shoot.
    What it does not do
    It does not give legal advice about usage rights or contracts. Write the terms you have agreed, or link to them.

  1. Quote the session

    Send an estimate the client accepts from a link, with a deposit on acceptance if the pack is on.

  2. Collect the deposit

    By payment link or on acceptance, straight into your own card account.

  3. Bill the package

    The invoice carries the session, the edits and the prints, with part payments allowed if you choose.

  4. Follow up on the balance

    Reminders, once you switch them on, chase the remainder politely and on time.
