Free estimate generator

Build an estimate or quote in your browser: line items, a validity date, an optional deposit and totals that update as you type. Print it or save it as a PDF. No account, and nothing is sent to MetroPay.

Editor and preview

Your draft is saved in this browser only. Nothing is sent to MetroPay.

Your details

Who the estimate is from. This appears at the top of the document.

Prepared for

The customer the estimate is addressed to.

Document

The number, the currency and the dates.

Line items

What you did or supplied, how much of it, and the rate. Amounts update as you type.

    $0.00

Tax and discount

One tax rate, applied to the lines marked taxable. A discount comes off before tax.

Leave empty for no tax.

Deposit

Optional. A percentage is rounded up to the next cent, in the customer's favour, and the estimate states the balance after it.

Notes and terms

Both print at the foot of the document. Leave either empty to leave it off.

Add a line item to print

Describe at least one line before printing. An empty estimate is not something anyone meant to send.

How this works

Everything on this page runs in your browser. Type your details and line items in the editor and the estimate beside it updates as you go. Your draft is kept in this browser's own storage, so it is still here if you come back, and the Clear draft button removes it.

Nothing you type is uploaded, emailed or saved by MetroPay. There is no account, no sign-up and no copy of your estimate on our servers. If you clear your browser data, the draft goes with it.

When it is ready, choose Print or save as PDF. Your browser's own print dialog opens: pick a printer to print it, or choose Save as PDF as the destination to keep a file you can attach to an email. The printed estimate ends with an Accepted by line for the customer to sign.

What it does not do

  • It does not send the estimate. You print it or save the PDF and send it yourself.
  • It does not let the customer accept online, and it does not collect the deposit it states.
  • It does not track whether the estimate was opened, accepted or expired.
  • It does not check what an estimate or quote must legally include where you are. Check the rules before you send it.

In MetroPay, estimates are an optional module you switch on per workspace: customers accept or decline from a link, and accepted work turns into an invoice.
